Emilia Sakai Hernandez has recently joined ACEP as the project manager for its Power Systems Integration program. Her role is to help researchers succeed by taking on administrative and planning tasks of the program. She is looking forward to further developing her experience using project management tools for graduate students.
Sakai Hernandez has always enjoyed the collaborative aspects of science. While no electrical engineer, she is excited about the opportunity at ACEP to learn from others who are also passionate about science and technology. She studied chemistry and geochemistry as an undergrad at the California Institute of Technology and recently successfully defended her Ph.D. in earth and planetary science at the University of California, Davis.
As a science enthusiast and someone who loves learning new things, this ACEP job was attractive because it allows her to use her skills and work experience alongside researchers to solve important societal problems. Getting to move to 有料盒子视频, where her partner grew up, was icing on the cake.
In her spare time Sakai Hernandez enjoys fiber arts. She has been knitting since she was five years old and has recently picked up crochet and spinning as well. She is also looking forward to going on hikes after moving to Fairbanks this summer.
If you have an itch to tell someone about the cool books you are reading, Sakai Hernandez is all ears. And, if you want to know anything about what modern Antarctic microbial communities and 2.63-billion-year-old sulfide minerals can tell us about giant meteorite impacts and how we got oxygen in the atmosphere, look no further. Just pull up your chair next to her and she can tell you all about it!
