Landscape Plants for ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ
The goal of the ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Plants database is to provide information about trees, shrubs and vines known to be growing successfully in ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ landscapes. It is intended to help people choose the right plant for the right place and develop landscapes that fit into our native environs.
ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ is experiencing serious negative effects from non-native species introduced by accident or purposely planted that spread into surrounding environments. These invasive plants pose serious threats to ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ’s native plants and wildlife changing habitats as they spread. This database is an extensive revision of the 1996 ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Cooperative Extension publication Landscape Plants for ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ: A List of Trees, shrubs, vines and ground covers for ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵn Landscapes and is a cooperative effort with the Community Forestry Program, ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Division of Forestry and the ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
**As of January 2025, the information in this listing is under review to ensure accuracy with the most current research. If you have questions about invasive plants, please contact ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Cooperative Extension at 1-877-520-5211 or ces@alaska.edu.
