Dear ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ community,

Many watched or listened to events unfold in Washington, D.C. today. One of our fundamental principles as a university is freedom of speech, and we encourage everyone to ask questions, explore new ideas, and challenge norms. An equally fundamental principle is to do so with civility and respect. Violence, or the threat of violence, undermines the very principle of free speech.

As events unfold in the coming days, weeks and months I encourage you to read, learn, discuss and advocate, always in the spirit of cooperation, in the interest of common good and with shared values at heart.
