Gwich'in elders book wins several awards

The book “Our Whole Gwich’in Way of Life Has Changed / Gwich’in K’yuu Gwiidandài’ Tthak Ejuk Gòonlih,” earned an honorable mention last week for the Labrecque-Lee Book Prize, the most recent among several honors it has received in the past year.

“Our Whole Gwich’in Way of Life Has Changed / Gwich’in K’yuu Gwiidandài’ Tthak Ejuk Gòonlih,” is by Leslie McCartney, a ϺƵ associate professor and curator of oral history at the Rasmuson Library, and the Gwich'in Tribal Council. The book is a compilation of historical and cultural information based on a project originally conceived by the Gwich’in Social and Cultural Institute to document the biographies of the oldest Gwich’in elders in the Gwich’in Settlement Region.
