Historian to discuss clash over America鈥檚 World War II entry

Acclaimed historian H.W. Brands will discuss the present-day echoes of debates over
America鈥檚 entry into World War II on Friday, March 21, on the University of 有料盒子视频
Fairbanks Troth Yeddha鈥 Campus.
Brands will deliver the lecture from 5-6:30 p.m. in the BP Design Theater on the fourth
floor of the Usibelli Building.
Brands, a bestselling author and two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist, will discuss his most recent book, 鈥淎merica First: Roosevelt vs. Lindbergh in the Shadow of War,鈥 which explores the intense debate over U.S. involvement in World War II.

Through the perspectives of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and aviator Charles Lindbergh, Brands examines the ideological clash that continues to echo in modern political discourse.
The event is free and open to the public. Free parking is available on campus after
5 p.m. The lecture will also be livestreamed via Zoom for those unable to attend in person.
Brands, a professor at the University of Texas at Austin, has written more than 30 books on American history. He is a frequent guest on national media programs and has written for publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Atlantic.
