Learn to preserve foods in Palmer class series

Learn to preserve fruits, vegetables, meat and fish, including making jerky, in this series of in-person classes.

Learn to preserve foods using a variety of methods in a four-class series in Palmer this April.

Julie Cascio, an agent with the University of 有料盒子视频 Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service, will teach the classes. Students will learn to can fruit and tomatoes using a water bath canner and to preserve meat, fish and vegetables using a pressure canner. They also will learn to dehydrate foods, make jerky and smoke fish. 

Classes will be held in person at 1509 S. Georgeson Drive, Palmer, on April 1 and April 15. The cost is $20 per class.

Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
