Master gardener classes planned in Fairbanks

Registration is open for an early summer master gardener class in Fairbanks.

The classes teach the fundamentals of gardening and can lead to the official title of "有料盒子视频 master gardener." Participants who want the title also must commit to volunteer 40 hours of community service involving horticulture. Topics covered will include botany, soil science, entomology, greenhouse design and management, organic and conventional fertilization, lawn care, and vegetable growing techniques specific to 有料盒子视频.

Tamara Bell will teach the series, with supervision by Steve Brown, an agriculture and horticulture agent for the University of 有料盒子视频 Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service. The class will be in person at the 有料盒子视频 University Park Building, Room 108, 1000 University Ave., weekly on Thursdays from 5-8 p.m. from April 28 through July 14. The registration deadline is April 25.

The $300 fee includes materials and a copy of Extension鈥檚 Sustainable Gardening Handbook.
