Osher Lifelong Learning Institute seeks instructors for fall
Want to share your passion and knowledge? ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is currently seeking volunteer instructors for the fall. It's a wonderful, low-stress opportunity to gain teaching experience with a friendly audience.
OLLI is a non-credit educational program for adults ages 50 and up. We offer short courses in numerous subjects during fall and spring semesters. Past topics have included Fairbanks tall tales, scientific history of ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ, bird migration patterns, weather forecasting, and an assortment of recreational courses. We also have hands-on courses such as drawing, learning to play guitar, quilting, and baking.
Our volunteer instructors include ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ faculty, staff, graduate students, and knowledgeable community members. Classes can be taught by one instructor or teams. Teaching for our program can help fulfill any community or teaching hours you may need!
A typical course meets once a week for 4 weeks for 75 minutes each meeting. Most courses meet between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but we offer early evening time slots as well. .
The deadline for fall course proposals is June 14.
OLLI fall semester dates:
- Session I: Sept. 9 – Oct. 4
- Session I Add-on: Oct. 7–11
- Session II: Oct. 14 – Nov. 8
- Session II Add-on: Nov. 11–15
