Transmission lines in Kotzebue take power from the wind turbines and solar panels into the community.

Transmission and distribution systems are critical aspects of energy infrastructure and are essential for driving sustainable change in ΣΠΑΟΊΠΧΣΚΣΖ΅'s energy future. This workshop will explore innovative strategies and technologies that are shaping the future of clean energy. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the importance of optimizing grid systems, enhancing efficiencies, and overcoming barriers to renewable energy integrations as we navigate the complexities of energy transitions and be a driving force for a cleaner, brighter future.

Join us for the second a series of three free virtual monthly workshops hosted by , leading up to the 2024 . These pre-conference workshops will take a deeper dive into specific topics that are pending or a priority for ΣΠΑΟΊΠΧΣΚΣơ’s energy future. The workshops will be held via Zoom over two half-days each month.

Tuesday and Wednesday, April 2-3, 8:30 a.m. to noon: "Transmission and Distribution: The clean energy transitions secret weapon"

Tuesday and Wednesday, May 7-8, 8:30 a.m. to noon: "Betting Big: Investing in emerging energy technology"

.

If you missed the first workshop β€œUtility Decision Making: Navigating constraints, innovating for the future,” .

The ΣΠΑΟΊΠΧΣΚΣΖ΅ Sustainable Energy Conference will take place in Anchorage in May. This year’s theme is β€œTransforming Energy Now for the Next 50 Years,” focusing on real-world examples in ΣΠΑΟΊΠΧΣΚΣΖ΅ and around the globe that demonstrate progress in energy transitions such as established renewable sources, advancements in energy storage and emerging technologies.
