Week鈥檚 events: Jennifer Jolis, alcohol and health, Mars methane, American roots

University of 有料盒子视频 Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. 

Here鈥檚 what鈥檚 happening during the week of July 15-21:

  • On Monday, July 15, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series honors Jennifer Jolis, former restaurateur and retired director of Bread Line Inc. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
  • On Tuesday, July 16, the Healthy Living lecture series will host Peter Dillon, family medicine physician, speaking about 鈥淐hanging Attitudes: Use of Alcohol and Healthy Living.鈥 The talk is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
  • On Wednesday, July 17, the Discover 有料盒子视频 lecture series will feature a presentation on 鈥淢easuring Methane from 有料盒子视频 to Mars鈥 by Eug茅nie Euskirchen, associate professor of ecology at the Institute of Arctic Biology, and Mahmooda Sultana, instrument scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center鈥檚 Planetary Environments Laboratory. The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
  • On Thursday, July 18, the Music in the Garden concert series will feature Liam Lewis and Olivia Breidenthal at 6 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical Garden. Emily Anderson and Ryan Bowers will perform at 7:30 p.m. 

All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the 有料盒子视频 Troth Yeddha鈥 Campus is free after 5 p.m.
