ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ

Felicia is a lifelong ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵn who was born and raised in Fairbanks. She is a proud ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ alum who holds a B.A. in communication and is passionate about promoting awareness of Nanook Nation and all things ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ, while engaging the Fairbanks community as a partner.

She has worked at ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ for nearly 18 years, most recently as the program coordinator for the Graduate School and Interdisciplinary Studies. Before that, she spent eight years as office coordinator for Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning. She still volunteers as the emcee for the popular Music in the Garden summer performance series. Her university experience includes human resources, administrative support, fiscal management, project management and student services.

Felicia is an avid supporter of Nanook athletics and can be seen enthusiastically cheering on the ’Nooks at most home games and meets.

She likes to travel with her daughter, a critical care nurse in Minnesota. They try to ride horses wherever their adventures take them. So far, their favorite location is Iceland. Felicia enjoys her free time walking her Morkies, Tula and Iris. 

Katie was lured from South Dakota to ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ in 2001 on an educational adventure as a graduate student in marine biology with the ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS). Salty Kodiak sea spray, Interior boreal forests dappled with long daylight, and winters filled with bonfires and friendly, kindred spirits set firmly in place that ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ was a place to put roots in.

A planned two- or three-year adventure turned into a lifelong move and Katie has lived in ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ for over 20 years. Her work at ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ CFOS as a graduate student led to positions in CFOS as an academic assistant, recruiter and adviser. After a short, eight-year hiatus to raise three children, she returned to ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ to work with the Development team in donor relations, before moving to her current position as the Alumni Storytelling Manager.

In her spare time, Katie drives kids to a myriad of activities and enjoys walks with her dogs and skiing with friends and family. Her winter survival is contingent upon at least one getaway to sun, sand and sea.

Katie and her husband are both proud to have attended ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ. Katie is passionate about education and believes ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ is the heart of the Fairbanks community and is thrilled to work in the lively Alumni office.
