With the mission of connecting the University of ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Fairbanks' business students to the seafood industry in ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ and supporting fishery sustainability, ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Blue Economy Center (ABEC) and the ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ College of Business and Security Management have collaborated to deliver meaningful opportunities for the college and potential benefits for the industry. CBSM student and alumnus, David Sauter, has been participating in the fishery sustainability certification space and engaging with stakeholders representing regulators, sustainability certification bodies, seafood harvesters and processors, and ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Native organizations representing communities dependent on sustainably managed fisheries.

The ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ College of Business and Security Management had a remarkable opportunity to partner with Disney's Imagination Campus at Walt Disney World in Fall 2023. In accounting class, Creating Theme Park Magic with Ruth Prato, students flew to Walt Disney World from Nov.12-18.
