Scholarships

There are many scholarship opportunities for anthropology students at ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ.

The first step in the scholarship process is to visit the ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Financial Aid website and begin the paperwork process. The deadline for this is February 15.

Scholarship opportunities within the department

There are various scholarships available to anthropology students. Please contact the department for more information.

Scholarship, Minimum $1,000 per academic year

Purpose: To provide scholarships to students enrolled at the University of ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Fairbanks. Preference given to anthropology.

Fellowship, Minimum $1,000 per academic year

Purpose: To provide funds to support anthropology research at the University of ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Fairbanks.

Fellowship, General Support, Honorarium, Scholarship

Purpose: To provide funds for: 1) acquisitions or archeological or paleontological exhibits for the UA Museum and for the maintenance of same. 2) Financing, in whole or part, expeditions for archeological or paleontological field research. 3) Scholarship or fellowship grants for students majoring in anthropology, and archeology or paleontology.

Research Award

Purpose: The Croxton Family Fellowship endowment will provide support to graduate students at the University of ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Fairbanks who demonstrate academic skills and leadership abilities and whose academic program or research emphasis is in one or more of the broad areas of 1) anthropology, 2) Northern studies, 3) biology, 4) wildlife management, 5) elementary or secondary education 6) the fine arts, or 6) museum education and/or museum collection-based research in archaeology, ethnology or history. The intent of this fund is to increase the body of knowledge about ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ, and to train professionals who will contribute to ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ and its people.

Scholarship, 2 @ $1,000 per academic year/see GA for details

Purpose: To provide scholarships for University of ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Fairbanks students, whose area of study has emphasis in any of the following subjects: Northern Studies/ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Studies, Women's Studies, Anthropology, or History.
