Scholarship
Purpose: To provide financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to junior and senior Political Science majors at the University of ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ Fairbanks.
Scholarship opportunities outside the department

Dr. Lovecraft is the faculty representative for was established by Congress in 1986 for the purpose of improving teaching about the United States Constitution in secondary schools. Applicants must be a teacher, or planning to become a teacher, of American history, American government, or social studies at the secondary school level. The Foundation offers two types of Fellowships: Junior Fellowships are awarded to students who are about to complete, or have recently completed, their undergraduate course of study and plan to begin graduate work on a full-time basis. Junior Fellows have two years to complete their degree. Senior Fellowships are awarded to experienced teachers who wish to undertake work for a graduate degree on a part-time basis through summer and evening classes. Senior Fellows have up to five years to complete their degree.
Dr. Meek is the faculty representative for the . The program is for undergraduate students with good academic records who wish to pursue careers in environmental policy, health care, or tribal policy. Students chosen for the award receive a $5,000 scholarship to apply toward the cost of a year of college, and must be nominated by ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓÊÓƵ to compete with others for an award.
The provide an opportunity for two years of study in the United Kingdom. They are open to graduating seniors and graduate students who demonstrate a high level of academic and personal achievement. The scholarships allow for study at over 100 universities and colleges in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Any field of study may be chosen. The scholarships cover all costs for two years, including travel, tuition, and living expenses.
The is the oldest international study award available to American scholars. It allows for two or three years of study at Oxford, and scholars are selected on the basis of well-rounded excellence that includes academic and intellectual achievement, integrity of character, service to society, and leadership ability. Candidates must be between 18 and 24 years of age, and hold a Bachelor’s degree. The scholarships are for all fields of study that qualify the candidate for admission to Oxford. The Rhodes Scholarships cover all costs of study, living allowance, and travel.
The are awarded to college juniors to attend graduate school that will prepare them for careers in public service. Truman Scholars are chosen on the basis of leadership potential; outstanding academic and interpersonal skills; and the career goal of making a difference in the government, education, or volunteer sectors of public life. Truman Scholars are awarded up to $30,000 in support for their studies.
